The late King Oyo’s body was officially received by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Entebbe International Airport, marking the beginning of the final journey home for the former Tooro monarch.

From the airport, the remains were taken home as preparations continued for the official burial ceremonies and final rites in accordance with Tooro cultural traditions.
Aly Allibhai, who has been a prominent figure in Uganda’s entertainment and events industry through Talent Africa Group, joined fellow mourners, cultural leaders, public figures and members of the community in honouring the late King.

King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV was widely recognised for his role as the cultural leader of the Tooro Kingdom and for his long reign.

His passing has sparked an outpouring of grief across Uganda, with tributes continuing to come in from leaders, celebrities, cultural institutions and ordinary citizens.
As the nation continues to mourn, attention now turns to the final ceremonies that will mark the end of an era for the Tooro Kingdom.
