Tooro Kingdom Celebrates King Oyo Nyimba Rukidi IV’s 29th Coronation Anniversary in Fort Portal

Fort Portal, Uganda – September 12, 2024* – The vibrant city of Fort Portal was abuzz with festivities today as the Tooro Kingdom celebrated the 29th coronation anniversary of King Oyo Nyimba Rukidi IV. The grand event, tagged with the social media hashtag #EkyootoHaMpango, saw a blend of cultural pride, traditional rituals, and community spirit.

King Oyo Nyimba Rukidi IV, who ascended the throne at the tender age of three, was honored with a series of traditional ceremonies and festivities that highlighted the rich heritage of the Tooro Kingdom. The anniversary marked nearly three decades of his reign, which has been characterized by efforts to preserve and promote Tooro’s cultural traditions while fostering community development.
