The event, scheduled to take place from February 23 to February 28, will bring together participants from Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, and other East African nations, promoting regional unity through sports and culture.

The agreement to host the games at the iconic stadium was reached between the management of Hamz Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium and the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).
On Thursday, a high-profile delegation led by the Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Minsa Kabanda, visited the stadium to assess its readiness. She was accompanied by the Minister of State for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Kabuye Kyofatogabye, KCCA Executive Director Sharifah Buzeki, and Deputy Executive Director Benon Kigenyi.

Minister Kabanda expressed her appreciation to the stadium’s management for accepting to host the event, emphasizing the importance of showcasing Uganda’s ability to organize high-caliber sports competitions.

“I’m so grateful that Hamz Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium management has agreed to host the games. We must show other teams that we are the best,” she said, applauding businessman Hamis Kiggundu for his unwavering support in sports development.
The EALASCA Games serve as a platform for local authorities across the East African region to foster collaboration through sports, culture, and knowledge exchange. This year’s edition promises thrilling competitions and a celebration of East African heritage.
