The cause of the brawl remains unclear.
The incident occurred at la Terazza bar and restaurant (formerly Sky Lounge) at Kisementi in Kololo
Police officials said they were investigating the matter and would soon make an official communication.
However, it is alleged that on Sunday night, Grenade threw a glass at Rickman before the ‘Nkuloga’ singer ran away on a boda boda.
The glass left Rickman with facial wounds.
Rickman’s girlfriend, Sheila Gashumba, has since accused Grenade of attacking her boyfriend.
“It’s very unfortunate and sad that the industry in Uganda still has artists like Grenade that are very undisciplined, chaotic, and want to fight others,” said Gashumba on X.
“He (Grenade) attacked Rickman today after attempting to fight and create comotion on our table at la terezza.”
Grenade speaks out
In response, Grenade said the dispute stems from his past love affair with Sheila Gashumba.
Grenade said Rickman and his boys “almost killed me last night, but I thank God that I’m still alive. They broke my leg and my arm, but bro, you were going to kill me for no reason because, man, I have no interest in your girl, but you just want me dead because of a girl.”
He added, “Man, I dated Sheila five years ago. We had what we had, and that was it. So now, boy, I don’t know why you are chasing me and trying to kill me for your girl, bro. Your girl is no longer my type.”
Gashumba, who denied having an affair with Grenade, defended her boyfriend Rickman, saying he “rarely parties and is never in any drama, and he is a calm and respectful person.”
She added, “I think since the year began, this is his 5th time in the bar because he prefers watching football and going to the studio. It’s sad that this has happened even after so many artists dying in the past years in such scandals!! We shall follow up on the case with @PoliceUg.”
